The Ostrogothic Fantasy Orchestra proudly presents “The Triple Shot Series, Vol 1: Bachobizet Mozarto (Excello Excerpts)” featuring three of the most popular classical cuts from the 1700s and 1800s.

1. ‘Mozart’s Turkish March (Excello Excerpt)’ is one of Mozart’s best-known piano pieces. It fuses Turkish and German musical traditions, inspired by Ottoman Janissary troops (elite infantry fighters) and was composed in 1783. The tack resembles Ottoman Janissary war marches that were in vogue at the time.

2. August Wilhelmj’s 1871 take on Bach’s ‘Orchestral Suite No. 3 in D major’ is known as ‘Air on the G-String’ and ‘Celebrated Air’. Wilhelmj’s arrangement greatly popularized Bach’s original piece, and although Wilhelmj’s version is rarely played anymore, it remains the commonly used name for the excerpt.

3. ‘Bizet’s Habanera (L’amour est un oiseau rebelle) (Excello Excerpt)’ is a Cuban dance “La Habana” brought to Spain by medieval sailors where it became popular in 1875 and was danced by all of society.
